When Paul Baumer of Dutch house duo Bingo Players died in December of 2013, his partner, Maarten Hoogstraten, announced that he would be continuing to release music as Bingo Players, as per Paul’s wishes.

“We’ve come too far to stop now,” Maarten explained at the time. “Paul’s spirit will always be a part of anything I do as Bingo Players.”

Maarten then released what would be the last Bingo Players track created by the duo, “Knock You Out,” in early April 2014. And then there was a long silence. Maarten toured as Bingo Players, but there was no music.

Now, almost 9 months after the release of their last single, Maarten has finally released preview of a new Bingo Players song entitled “Nothing to Say,” which continues the big room tradition to which he and Paul were so deeply devoted.

The song, which Maarten posted on Bingo Players’ Soundcloud, simply states “Here’s a preview of the next single “Nothing To Say” out Feb 2 on Hysteria.” There is no word as to whether it is a solo work, or is a continuation of a track created with Paul, but for fans, it’s certainly a return to form.

“I want to continue because I love what I do and I want to do it for both of us,” Maarten said in 2014, of his intention to continue the career he began with his fallen partner. “Bingo Players will always be plural.”

Bingo Players will be playing two dates in California in March.
