As Pete Tong deftly points out in his latest Essential Mix broadcast, Tale Of Us have “really owned” the past few years on the European underground house circuit.

The Berlin-based duo of Carmine Conte and Matteo Milleri have been on-point both behind the decks and in the studio, as evidenced by standout releases on Visionquest and Minus as well as their own imprint Life and Death. Last summer, techno icon Richie Hawtin also invited them to play in Ibiza as part of his 14-week ENTER. residency at Space. Locked away since Christmas crafting their debut album before heading stateside for major upcoming festival gigs like Miami’s Ultra Music Festival and Coachella, these guys are poised for a true breakout 2015.

On their debut Essential Mix, Tale Of Us channel their current tech-edged sound via 20 choice cuts from Recondite, Scuba, Stephan Bodzin and others. One moment that truly stands out is their sublime new remix of Plastikman’s “EXpand,” taken from his exceptional EX live recording at New York’s Guggenheim Museum back in 2013.
