If you’re a techno believer, there’s a good chance the Awakenings festival is on your bucket list. (Or you’ve already ticked it off.) Now the renowned Dutch weekender has announced the extensive line-up for its 15th edition this June, and it’s a showstopper.
The marathon party – which runs from noon to 11pm at Spaarnwoude Houtra outside Amsterdam on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June – is set to feature over 100 acts across eight stages, including the two main open-air ‘Areas’ and a special ’15 Years of Awakenings Festival’ stage. In short, it’s a monster.
The main stages feature a roll-call of festival pros including Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Sven Väth, Maceo Plex and Joris Voorn, plus a special closing set from Drumcode’s man of the moment Sam Paganini. Heads-down techno will rule Area X thanks to the likes of Dave Clarke, Len Faki and Jeff Mills, while other standout bookings include Surgeon and Blawan as TRADE, Chris Liebing and Speedy J’s ‘Collabs 3000′, a tag-team set from Berghain dons Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann, and much, much more.
You can check out the full line-up – with the running order already locked in – at the Awakenings website. If you’re still not convinced to book a pilgrimage, watch the 2014 after-movie below. [Photo by Dennis Bouman.]
